Babe the Blue Ox, the larger-than-life legend of the Brainerd Lakes Area, is on the loose. Sightings have been reported at numerous locations throughout the region and are being described as an “oxpedition of art” due to Babe’s clever disguises.

Your mission: Find Babe. And you only have a few months. Babe will be out and about beginning at the Governor’s Fishing Opener (May 2008) until Labor Day weekend (September 1, 2008).

While on your search, record the unique ID codes that are located on the base of each statue. Then, enter those codes into the official online Oxtrot Registration Form (shown below). Submit this form online to be entered in a drawing to win an exciting Brainerd Lakes vacation package.

While you're online, send us your favorite photo by any ox statue. We'd love to see it!

This Oxtrot supports the Brainerd Lakes Area Crossing Arts Alliance, in conjunction with Avalon Studios.
